This Privacy Policy describes how QR Scanner & Generator ("the App", "we", "us") handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
1. Information We Collect
The App does not collect any personal information. Specifically:
- We do not collect your name, email address, or contact details.
- We do not collect analytics, usage data, or device identifiers.
- We do not use tracking technologies, cookies, or advertising SDKs.
- We do not transmit any data to external servers.
2. Camera Permission
The App requests access to your device's camera solely for the purpose of scanning QR codes and barcodes in real time. Camera data is:
- Processed entirely on your device using Google ML Kit's on-device barcode scanning.
- Never recorded, stored, or transmitted to any server.
- Used only while the scanner screen is active and discarded immediately after processing.
3. Local Data Storage
The App stores your scan and generation history locally on your device using an on-device database. This data:
- Includes the content of scanned/generated QR codes, their type, and timestamp.
- Is stored only on your device and is never uploaded or shared with us or any third party.
- Can be deleted at any time by you using the "Clear History" feature within the App.
- Will be removed if you uninstall the App.
4. Image Access
The App may request access to your photo gallery to allow you to scan QR codes from existing images. Selected images are processed on-device only and are not stored or transmitted.
When you save a generated QR code, the image is saved to your device's local storage (Pictures/CyberQR folder). We do not access or upload these saved images.
5. Vibration Permission
The App uses the vibration feature to provide haptic feedback when a QR code is successfully scanned. No data is collected through this feature.
6. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party libraries for on-device processing only:
- Google ML Kit (Barcode Scanning) — Processes camera frames on-device to detect QR codes and barcodes. No data is sent to Google's servers. ML Kit Terms.
- ZXing — Used for generating QR code and barcode images locally on your device.
No third-party analytics, advertising, or crash reporting services are used.
7. Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. Since we do not collect any personal data from any user, no special provisions are necessary.
8. Data Security
Since all data is stored locally on your device and no data is transmitted over the internet, the security of your data depends on the security of your device. We recommend keeping your device's operating system up to date and using appropriate security measures such as screen lock.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
